We are just 500 metres from the beach and the piazza Duomo and are just on the edge of the historic centre, immersed in a peaceful oasis of lush citrus groves in the valle dei mulini. Casa Chiarito is next to one of the oldest paper mills of medieval origin in an area called Chiarito from which the apartment takes its name. The northern gateway to Amalfi was also situated in the same area.
The apartment is the ideal departure point for those who love trekking or walking amongst nature with beautiful views and wonderful waterfalls.
The pathway that crosses the valle dei mulini and skirts the ruins of the paper mill and the ancient foundry leads to the nature reserve of the Valle delle Ferriere. This is home to a rare fern, the “Woodwardia randicans”, which grows thanks to the particular microclimate which can be found here. It can grow up to 180cm in height and is typical of tropical rain forests.
